Having lived in Venezuela for many years, I never imagined I would be pursuing a career in Law as a commercial solicitor in London. Working and studying at the same time while living on my own has been challenging. Yet, I have managed to succeed by being constant and perseverant. I feel very proud of what I have achieved so far. When I started my degree, I became fascinated by a few city law firms, such as Freshfields and Slaughter and May. Being invited to an interview with both firms made me feel very special. After securing a Vacation Scheme at Freshfields, I am convinced that I am on the right track at the right time, which makes me feel even more motivated to keep working towards securing a Training Contract with them.
I have been lucky to find such wonderful people who have helped me along the way. Being part of Strive during my application process helped in many ways. It not only boosted my commercial awareness and made me feel part of a beautiful community of dedicated students and lawyers working towards a common goal, but having a second pair of eyes to go through my application forms was super helpful. The experience as a whole made me feel I was able to achieve my goal and provided me with the tools to prepare myself, and here I am today. I cannot be more grateful to the whole team.
