I immigrated to the UK from Afghanistan in 2009. Being from a low-income, ethnic minority background I did not think that I would even go to university let alone even think of applying to Magic or Silver Circle law firms. However, the help and guidance of my family and mentors over the past few years have been instrumental into helping me get where I am today. STRIVE has been one of if not the biggest factor in my success in securing 3 Vacation Schemes. The Application and Commercial Awareness sessions that they ran at the beginning of the programme outlined to me what I had to focus on from the very start alongside what a successful application needed to look like. I cannot emphasise enough the monumental impact my mentor had on my success from applications to interviews.
